We believe City walls are a must-do while staying in Dubrovnik, and it is for a reason the most popular attraction in Dubrovnik. By going on the walls, you get to walk around the whole Old town area with an amazing panoramic view of everything in the Old town, paired with a beautiful horizon.
The walls were built from the 8th to 16th century, with the majority of them during the 15th and 16th century when towers were built as part of the City walls, and they served as a defensive fortification system that has never been breached by the enemies.
The length of the Dubrovnik City walls is 2 kilometers (1.24 miles), so be prepared to spend 1.5-2 hours walking around.
The walls include 3 circular and 14 quadrangular towers, 5 bastions, and several other fortresses, with Minčeta fortress being the highest point of the walls, and one of the best views on the walls.

Tips
- Your ticket for the City Walls also includes a free entrance into the Lovrijenac fortress, which is only a couple of minutes away by walking from the City walls entrance.
- Crowded walls are not so enjoyable, try to avoid the crowds by going early in the morning or late evening.
- Wear Sunscreen, sunglasses, and dress casually.
