For a proper dinner in Lapad, the most consistent 2026 reviews go to Pantarul, Fish Bar El Pulpo, Madonna, Bistro Bacchus and Maskeron. In Gruž, eat along the harbour front (Urban & Veggie, Blidinje, GreenGarden) and go to the market in the morning: it runs Monday to Saturday, 06:00 to 13:00, and is shut on Sunday. Come early for the best choice; Friday is the busy fish day. The market reopened after a full rebuild in 2024 with a retractable roof; the fish hall had been renovated before that. Bring cash, as many stalls do not take cards.

The road around Gruž bay, where the ferries and the market are. More lunch than late dinner, and handy before a ferry.
