About
Porporela is the stone breakwater at the eastern edge of the Old Port, just below St John Fortress, with a small lighthouse at its tip. Steps and ladders lead straight into the sea, and it has long been a swimming spot for locals.
A Croatian travel blogger counts it among her favourite places for photos of the harbour, the sea and the city walls, and visitors on Tripadvisor call it a perfect place. Travel guides mention the open views towards Lokrum and the walls.
