Srđ is the hill that rises straight behind the Old Town, topped by Fort Imperial, the white stone cross and the upper cable car station. A rocky footpath zigzags up the side facing the city, first through pine woodland, then over open hillside.
Travel bloggers who hiked it describe a steady climb over loose stones, with the views over the Old Town, Lokrum and the islands opening up at every bend. Several timed it for the sunset at the top, and one came back down by cable car rather than pick over the stones in the dark.
