The botanical garden sits beside the Benedictine monastery in the middle of Lokrum, with paths through palms, cacti, agaves and eucalyptus, many first planted in the nineteenth century.
Travel bloggers describe a pleasant walk among tall palms and cacti, and one who did not expect to enjoy a garden says it won him over. A few visitors hoped for more exotic plants, and a Croatian blogger says the peacocks wandering through are the real highlight.
