Lapad beach, also called Sunset Beach, is the pebble and partly sandy beach at the head of Lapad bay, where the Lapad promenade meets the sea, next to Hotel Kompas.
Travel bloggers who stayed above it loved its shallow, sheltered water for families and the sunsets, and a forum traveller staying at Hotel Kompas found a nice little beach right next door. Not everyone agrees: one reader misses the trees that gave way to concrete and loungers, and in 2025 the beach bar stood derelict.
