Dubrovnik is a city with over thousand years of rich history, but we’re not interested in the kinds of tales you can find in guidebooks. Haunted Dubrovnik is dedicated to collecting and sharing with you the dark, the mysterious, and the ghostly stories and tales from Dubrovnik’s misty past.

This tour will take you away from the busy streets, outside the city walls, and into the twilight places where old secrets still lurk.

The tour starts at twilight near the local graveyard, Boninovo. Besides the graveyard itself and its nearby haunted palaces, the walk features charming Gradac park where you'll hear stories about public executions, the grim black death, the curse of Lokrum island and much more.
This tour brings you the side of Dubrovnik's history that you won't hear about on other city's tours. While exploring the limestone paved streets and alleys of the Old City, you'll discover what happened in the past after the third bell.

We will reveal to you some of the most prominent and intriguing cases including stories of brutal murders and conspiracies, but also of the forbidden relationships, the usage of poisons, spies and witch trials.

You will also learn all about the criminal justice that followed these crimes, so we will take you to the places where death sentences were carried out, where criminals were publicly ashamed, mutilated or tortured and finally we will visit the medieval courtroom, prisons, and dungeon of the Rector's Court where you will be set free because that is where our tour will end.
Learn about the infectious plague that visited Dubrovnik often in old times, hear the story of Dubrovnik's Romeo and Juliet, learn about some noble families and their tragic destinies and visit the Pustijerna district which translates as the empty land.
